Midori and/et Liferea PPA

[en] : I spend my all day breaking webkit-team trying to save some space. Things are back to normal except for Hardy.
There is no more debugging packages for Webkit (it’s too big, nearly 100 Mo for each).
I also created 2 new PPA for Midori and Liferea :

[fr] : J’ai passé ma journée à casser la webkit-team en essayant de gagner un peu de place. Les choses sont redevenues normales sauf pour Hardy.
Il n’y a plus de paquets de déboggage pour Webkit (ils sont trop gros, près de 100Mo chacun).
J’ai aussi créé deux nouveaux PPA pour Midori et Liferea :

WebKit Team News

[en] WebKit Team News :
As said before, WebKitGtk+ 1.1.3 is available for Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty.
Midori is also there and in a brand new version 0.1.5 : integrated download, extensions and much more.
And, thanks to Jérôme Guelfucci, liferea was first backported from Debian Experimental and then upgraded to version 1.5.14 (all this with WebKit backend).

Comme annoncé précédemment, WebKitGtk+ 1.1.3 est disponible pour Hardy, Intrepid et Jaunty.
Midori est aussi présent dans la toute nouvelle version 0.1.5 : gestion des téléchargements intégré, extensions et bien plus.
Et, merci à Jérôme Guelfucci, liferea a été backporté de Debian Experimental puis mis-à-jour en version 1.5.14 (tous ça avec le rendu Webkit).

WebKitGTK+ website and/et 1.1.3

[en] Many news today, first here is the new WebkitGTK+ website hosted by Igalia and designed by Christian Dywan (the main dev of Midori),
secondly, a new version 1.1.3 is out,
And finaly, this version is available in the Webkit-team PPA \o/
NB : available for Intrepid only for the moment due to a space problem with the PPA.

[fr] Plein de nouveautés aujourd’hui, avec tout d’abord le nouveau site WebKitGTK+ hébergé par Igalia et créé par Christian Dywan (le développeur principal de Midori),
deuxièmement, la sortie de la nouvelle version 1.1.3,

WebKitGTK+ 1.1.1

Xan l’a annoncé aujourd’hui sur son blog, WebKitGTK+ 1.1.1 est sorti.

Vous pouvez récupérer les sources ici en attendant la sortie du package pour Debian/Ubuntu.

Midori 0.1.1 and WebKit 38850

Long time no post……

Midori and WebKit for Ubuntu are back. And this time it’s for real, it’s not anymore an alpha version.

Yep now it’s possible to use Midori for youtube (with flash 10), gmail, wordpress admin, etc…

So grab the new version from the webkit-team PPA

You’ll have to launch midori using this command :

WEBKIT_IGNORE_SSL_ERRORS="1" midori

You’ll also need ca-certificates package and sadly midori won’t work with self-certified site 😦

But it’s still fast, lightweight, standard compliant (100% to acid3) and fun.

Thanks again to the upstream developpers and to the real packagers from Debian & Ubuntu

identi.ca, gwibber et micro-blogging

J’ai cédé à la mode du micro-blogging (qui est un terme anglais pouvant se traduire par comment perdre encore son temps).

Je ne me suis pas inscrit sur twitter mais sur identi.ca qui est basé sur la plate-forme libre laconica .

Côté logiciels, en laissant à l’écart gtwitter (Mono), il nous reste gwibber développé par Ryan Paul en python/WebKit.

Pour l’installer il suffit d’ajouter les PPA webkit-team et gwibber-team à votre liste de dépôts :

Midori 0.0.20 and Webkit-team

Christian Dywan  announced today the release of the new 0.0.20 version of midori.

He forgot to tell his browser is now an XFCE project.

On a related news, Michele Costantino Soccio and I decided to create a webkit team on launchpad.

You will now find the packages for WebKit (currently version r35844), Midori and soon Epiphany-webkit in this team PPA.

For Hardy news lines in sources.list are :

NB : My personal PPA is still up and running.

Midori 0.0.20 et Webkit-team

Christian Dywan a annoncé aujourd’hui la sortie de la nouvelle version 0.0.20 de midori.

Il a d’ailleurs oublié de préciser que son navigateur était maintenant devenu un projet XFCE.

En marge de cette sortie, Michele Costantino Soccio et moi avons décidé de constituer une équipe webkit sur launchpad.

C’est donc dans le PPA de cette équipe que vous trouverez dorénavant les paquets WebKit (actuellement en version r35844), Midori et bientôt Epiphany-webkit.

Pour Hardy les nouvelles lignes de sources.list sont donc :

NB : Mon PPA personnel reste néanmoins toujours disponible.

Little updates on Midori & WebKit

As usual things are moving on the webkit and midori front.

Webkit :

I updated my ppa to nightly build r36641.

I also change the names of the package to match the Debian naming scheme.

So now it’s libwebkit-1.0-1, libwebkit-1.0-1-dbg and libwebkit-dev.

Midori:

New version 0.0.19 is out.

And of course you can use swfdec 0.7.4 to watch Youtube and other flash contents.

Still no Java, the actual web plugins are using OJI instead of NPAPI (Netscape Protocol) so it can’t work on Hardy, but even with the news version (1.6.0_07-b06) of Intrepid I’m not able to use java 😦
